Any fans out there care to discuss their favorite parts of the latest chapter?

Personally, I loved the part where Kagome was being harrassed by Fuyu and Kazuo. It was so funny to see the two of them talking about Kagome's love/sex life as if she were not even present.

Of course, no reader could ignore the wonderful tease at the end where Sesshoumaru was battling with his self-control over whether he would help Kagome with her little 'problem' before she departs for the upcoming battle - you know where they almost ended up 'necking' in the rain.

I could go on, as there were so many terrific parts of the latest chapter. But for now, I'd like to hear what thrilled all the other HotM readers out there.

I adored this chapter. Like you said, the part where she was being harrassed by Fuyu and Kazuo was great. I giggled lots on it. ^^ And it is always, ALWAYS, entertaining to listen in on both Sesshoumaru and Kagome's trains of thoughts. They just seem to go on and on and on and on. And it's GREAT! I laugh myself to tears reading this story. This has got to be, by far, the BEST fanfiction I have read since The Dark Pokemon Fanfiction...or Broken Pieces by Linay. And trust me, that is a LONG arse time ago.

I looooooooooove this fanficion so much, it almost seems like I'll die if I have to wait 3 weeks for the next update. ^.^ I'm even contemplating drawing fanart for this piece. That would be much fun. Much much MUCH much MUCH fun!

I love the story as well.

You ought to do fanart - I love looking at all Resmiranda's fanart, don't you? Sess is difficult to draw.

I do enjoy looking at ALL the fanart. ^.^ Some of them are down right hilarious. I especially adore Technoelfie's art too. She's so good. And yes, Sess is hard to draw, but not once you practice a lot.

I probably will do fanart, as soon as I get this FF/Jark picture done.

Sorry I was so late in replying back, but yay, hope to see your Sess fanart one day soon.

While the teasing from Fuyu and Kazuo had me giggling insanely. I am a real sucker for a good tear-jerker, I absolutely loved where Kagome said she was going to die.

I think my favourite was the last part when Kagome asked Sesshoumaru whether she was going to really die. Somehow.... it impacts me a lot.

I've recently snagged that icon too -isn't Sess beautiful there!

Yes, the bits where Kagome was trying to work through her feelings on the upcoming battle were very moving.

Of course, who didn't like the part with Fuyu and Kazuo discussing Kagome's sex life? It was amusing as heck. And I don't think I would have been able to remain there as long as Kagome did with people discussing such things about me. The spoon must be an incredibly powerful motivator. (And, thanks to this story, has become my all-together favorite weapon! =P) I laughed when Kazuo offered to "help" Kagome fix her problem. Kind of reminded me of something Miroku might offer. (You know he would if he could get away with it without being ripped to pieces by both Inuyasha and Sango.)

I also like the insight into Kagome and Sesshoumaru's minds. Some of the most amusing stuff is hidden within there. =D

Yes, the spoon!

There were so many funny scenes/lines with the spoon that I've grown rather fond of it. I'm going to miss the spoon when Kagome leaves Fuyu's shrine. Someone needs to do fanart with Fuyu weilding her spoon - a formidable weapon it was.

heh

Personally I would love for poor Kagome to develop a nervous tic whenever a spoon draws near, in any way, shape, fashion, or form. Provided she lives of course....which I secretly believe she will, because Im an optimist and romantic at heart. lol

Re: heh

Yes, would be funny. After returning home, she could have 'Fuyu-flashbacks' watching her her mom stir soup or something like that.

This was such a great chapter! Like many, I also enjoyed the part when Kagome is being harrassed by Fuyu and Kazuo. That earned many giggles from me. And the part was great when Sesshoumaru is convincing himself that he is not jealous... he is envious. I love being able to listen to his thoughts.
But I'm a sucker for angst and I love a good tearjerker so my favorite part was the last scene. I especially loved this...

"It wasn't that he wouldn't forget, but that he would...

- that he would recall her scent and the curve of her body, her eyes and her voice, her laugh and all the thousand and one things she had said to him, all the hundreds of secrets she shared with him in gesture and in words, all the beautiful thoughts she had let him see. He knew that he would take these things out and hold them, weigh them, taste and touch them.

He would sleep inside her laugh and live around her secrets, would wrap her voice around him and chase her scent into the day and out again, he would swallow her thoughts and make them his own. He would keep her with him until -

- well. Until. Just until. He would not resign her to his mind, to static silence, to lifelessness. He would not do that to her, as he had to so many others."

That was the part that really got to me. It was just written so beautifully. It was at this point that I was murdering the last of my kleenex.^_^
There are just so many beautiful scenes throughout this story and I know there's more to come! I can't wait!

Great quote, and great icon too. Circe67 has some lovely ones, doesn't she? I got a little sad reading that quote again *sigh*.

Yeah, Circe67 has some great icons. *sigh* That part of the story was so sad and wonderfully writen. My husband just rolls his eyes at me whenever he sees me staring at the computer screen and crying. Men, they just don't get it.^__^

I tried to get my husband to read it awhile back - tried to tempt him with gorey scenes from Chapter 29. (wasn't that the 'dead body clean up' chapter?) But he just wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. I wonder if most of HotM's readers are female? (and glad to hear I'm not the only married person who cries at fanfiction!)

Actually I think it was chapter 28 where she was cleaning up the dead bodies. The descriptions in that chapter were amazing. It had me almost gagging at my computer! My husband won't go near it either. But it's mostly because he hates to read. I can not understand how I ended up with someone who hates reading. I'm the complete opposite, I'll read anything I can get my hands on. And I'll cry at anything, not just fanfiction. I'm such a baby.^_^

That part had to be my favorite and also the one that just made me just cry ... sigh .. It was so emotional and so many things were left unsaid with words but were still spoken if you know what I mean ...

As always the mixture of comedy and angst was just right to make me laugh and cry .... I just love this story .. next chapter might be even angstier ... sigh ..

Like probably most people, I loved the part when Sesshoumaru assured (sort of) Kagome that she would be remembered. And it is true, that there is a difference between not forgetting and actually remembering. In a very peculiar way, Sesshoumaru and Kagome find peace within each other without having sex, which Sesshoumaru was tempted to doing, as well as Kagome. I also loved the part when Kagome said that Machiko wanted to feel loved when she died. There was so much more said than what was being spoken.

And of course, when both Kazuo and Fuyu said that it was terrible that "her youkai" didn't do anything. XD I snorted the Coke I was drinking then right after reading those parts. All in all, this chapter leaves a sense of finality and also a feeling of foreboding. It is well done, as is the rest of the story.

The part where Sess was comparing 'remembering vs. forgetting' muddled my brain. I still don't think I have it straight. Heh. But that was my own fault for rushing through the ending (husband was pestering me for computer). Have to re-read it. Did you also enjoy Sess trying to say that envy was better than jealousy. Heh, sometimes we make some awfully shaky distinctions.

As for the sense of foreboding - you pinned it down there. That's right, this chapter really did serve to prepare the reader for the fast-approaching confrontation in Edo.

It's so much fun to have others with which to discuss a fav. fanfic! Resmiranda really does have quite a fandom out there (myself included therein) who enjoy mulling over the details and plotline.

Well, when one does not forget something...or more specifically, somebody, it is just that. You recall just the facts perhaps. Like, if Sesshoumaru did not forget Kagome, he would probably muse one day that he had spent some time with a miko named Kagome who wanted to kill the evil that wreaked havoc.

However, if Sesshoumaru remembered Kagome he would, and I quote, "recall her scent and the curve of her body, her eyes and her voice, her laugh and all the thousand and one things she had said to him, all the hundreds of secrets she shared with him in gesture and in words, all the beautiful thoughts she had let him see.

That is remembering. That is what a memory is. Just keeping Kagome "to static silence, to lifelessness" would be just 'not forgetting'. A passable excuse for a memory. I am sure everybody can relate to this story because while we have not time-traveled or met pretty silver-haired youkais with waaayyy too much sex appeal, we have all felt a lonliness that sometimes, can consume us. We have all had regrets and promises broken and just...bad blood. It is how we empathize.

August 5 2005, 20:30:37 UTC 6 years ago

Oh my god you did such an excellent job of analyzing that quote. Yes, that really makes a lot of sense. I wonder if we will see him 'remembering' her, and missing all those things, after Kagome returns to her own time and they are separated again. And if so, will she be back through the well again to meet with Sesshoumaru later? So many possibilities - I can't imagine what the author has planned, likely a few surprises - makes me eager for the next chapter. I wonder what either of the two characters will end up regretting most?
